Early voting options available at 146 vote centers throughout Riverside County

NEWS RELEASE

Registrar of Voters, Rebecca Spencer, is urging Riverside County voters to vote early ahead of the Nov. 8 consolidated general election. This election, there are more days and more ways for registered voters to cast their ballot, including in-person at any one of the 146 vote centers throughout Riverside County.

As of November 3, a total of 1,309,266 ballots have been issued and 194,052 ballots have been returned to the Registrar of Voters office. Registrar of Voters Rebecca Spencer encourages every eligible voter to cast a ballot in the election.

Today, Nov. 4, there are 26 vote centers open for in-person assistance. All 146 vote centers will open tomorrow, Nov. 5, and continue to operate through Election Day on Nov. 8, 2022. Early voting at vote centers is available from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. On Election Day, all vote centers will have extended hours from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Each vote center is a fully functioning voting location that mirrors a traditional polling place, however, voters are not assigned to a specific vote center. Every ballot cast during early voting is processed and counted the same way. By voting in advance of Nov. 8, voters will experience shorter wait times (or no wait times when voting at home with a vote-by-mail ballot).

Voters may also cast their vote-by-mail ballots in one of the 87 official drop boxes, or by returning in the mail. Vote-by-mail ballots postmarked on or before Election Day and received at the Registrar’s office within seven days following the election will be counted.

First launched during the June 7 Primary Election, the Registrar of Voters will again livestream real-time ballot counting for the November 8 Consolidated General Election. The livestream is now available on the registrar’s website. When vote counting is occurring, the livestream is turned on to provide the community virtual access to the room where ballots are counted.

Voters are encouraged to cast ballots as soon as possible so they can be included in the first Election Night results, which will be posted shortly after 8 p.m. on November 8 and updated every hour that evening. On Wednesday, November 9, election results will be posted at 6 p.m.

California residents may register to vote if they are U.S. citizens and at least 18 years old by Election Day. A person must re-register to vote after moving, changing names or changing political party preference.
