RIVERSIDE – The Riverside County Emergency Management Department, county departments, local and non-profit organizations, are opening a Local Assistance Center (LAC) Friday for residents and businesses impacted by the Nixon Fire.

The center will be at the Anza Community Hall located at 56630 CA-371, Anza, CA 92539. The hours will be 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, August 9.

The LAC will provide resources and services from many different agencies. It is for all residents and businesses in the Anza area that have been impacted by the Nixon Fire.

“Recovering from wildfires can be especially hard,” said Board Chair Chuck Washington, Third District. “That’s why this Local Assistance Center is open to all residents and businesses in the area in and around the Nixon Fire. Connecting everyone impacted to resources is an important first step towards recovery. We are thankful to those joining our various County departments in answering questions and providing resources to our community.”

Agencies will be available to provide services that include housing, public health, social services and CalFresh, and assistance with completing forms to report damages. The following agencies are some of those anticipated to be available at the Local Assistance Center: Riverside University Health System – Public Health, Assessor-County Clerk-Recorder, Department of Public Social Services, Housing and Workforce Solutions Department and American Red Cross.

The Riverside County Emergency Management Department encourages residents and businesses to report damages via an online form at RivCoReady.org/Recovery or by calling 2-1-1. This form is not an application for assistance, nor a guarantee of any benefits. Rather, the form will assist the County Emergency Management Department in determining the extent of damages and provide information that can be used to help the county qualify for any state or federal disaster programs available.
