Zero Waste Hero Returns: County Waste Resources to award prizes through social media campaign

The Department of Waste Resources is bringing back the Zero Waste Hero challenge for 2025! This virtual experience will challenge Riverside County residents throughout the month of January to incorporate more eco-friendly practices into their daily lives.

By completing challenges posted on the Department’s Instagram and Facebook accounts, residents will automatically be entered into a prize drawing. Each week, a resident will be selected to win an eco-friendly prize, and all participants will be entered into the grand prize drawing for their choice of a home composting system.

The Department of Waste Resources offers a variety of FREE environmental education classes related to waste reduction and sustainability. Class instructors provide attendees with professional learning and resources for instructional materials.
