Free Community Event to Recruit Foster Families

Indian Wells, CA – Ever thought about fostering or adopting a child? Take the first step towards changing a child’s life Monday May 12. Riverside County’s Department of Public Social Services (DPSS), in collaboration with Faith in Motion, will host a free informational event to help residents learn about becoming foster or adoptive families—and how local faith communities are walking alongside families every step of the way.

- Who: Riverside County DPSS, Faith in Motion, foster parents, and local faith-based community partners
- What: A community outreach event featuring a panel discussion and question and answer session in English and Spanish. Attendees will receive information on fostering, adoption, and volunteer opportunities.
- Where: Southwest Church, 44-175 Washington Street, Indian Wells, CA 92210
- When:Monday May 12 | 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

Why this matters: More than 3,300 children in Riverside County are in out-of-home care due to abuse or neglect—and the need for safe, loving foster families continues to grow, especially in desert communities.
