Lake Cahuilla Veterans Regional Park to Celebrate Groundbreaking & Lease Renewal

La Quinta, CA – March 5, 2025 – A historic occasion for the Riverside County Regional Park and Open-Space District - the official groundbreaking ceremony and lease renewal signing at Lake Cahuilla Veterans Regional Park is scheduled on Saturday, March 8, 2025, from 10:00 AM – 11:30 AM. This milestone ensures the park remains a valued recreational space for the next 30 years, providing new enhancements and long-term benefits to the community.
The event, sponsored by The KYA Group, will include remarks from local leaders, county officials, and veteran representatives, commemorating the start of improvements that will enhance visitor experiences, expand outdoor recreation, and honor the park’s significance to veterans and families.

Following the ceremony, the community is invited to a free celebration from 11:30 AM – 1:00 PM featuring free tacos, music, a bounce house, and veteran resources. This day is a salute to veterans and the local community, recognizing their contributions while celebrating the park’s bright future.
“With over $12 million we are investing, major changes are coming soon to Lake Cahuilla Veterans Regional Park,” said Riverside County Fourth District Supervisor V. Manuel Perez. “This park is a gem, and the improvements are going to fix up and open the pool again, add splash pads for everyone to cool off, and bring more greenery and trees for our families. The updated amenities will mean more activities for people of all ages to utilize this park. This lease agreement and upcoming improvements will preserve Lake Cahuilla as a cherished destination for generations to come.”
