Riverside County Honors Small Business Saturday: Shop Local, Support Local

Celebrate Small Business Saturday, an annual nationwide event that highlights the critical role small businesses play in driving local economies. This year, Small Business Saturday is on November 30, 2024, encouraging residents to shop locally and support the entrepreneurs and innovators who drive Riverside County's vibrant economy.

Small Business Saturday serves as a crucial reminder of the importance of supporting local enterprises, with benefits including:

• Sustaining local businesses: By shopping small, residents help ensure the continued success of Riverside County’s more than 76,700 small businesses, which represent an impressive 96% of all county businesses.
• Boosting revenue: Small Business Saturday ranks among the most lucrative days of the year for many small businesses, providing a valuable financial boost during the holiday season.
• Strengthening the local economy: Small businesses employ more than 340,500 workers, accounting for nearly 42% of employment in the county. Money spent locally is reinvested into the community, fueling improvements in schools, libraries, parks, and other essential services.
• Showcasing key industries: In Riverside County, four industries - Real Estate, Finance & Insurance, Professional Services, and Other Services - are comprised of 99% small businesses, collectively contributing over $29 billion to the county’s Gross Regional Product (GRP).

This Small Business Saturday, we encourage everyone to discover and support the diverse range of small businesses that make Riverside County unique. Every dollar spent locally contributes to job creation, community development, and the continued growth of our local economy.
