Volunteers to ‘Deck the Halls’ on Monday for Festival of Trees and Free Weekend Fun

Media invited as RUHS Foundation brings beloved events back to Riverside Convention Center

WHO:              Riverside University Health System Foundation organizers and scores of volunteers including doctors, nurses, social workers, retirees, college students, and business leaders will be decorating themed holiday trees and transforming the downtown Riverside Convention Center into an immersive winter wonderland in preparation for the arrival of Santa and more than 10,000 weekend visitors.

WHAT:           Preparations for the 33rd Annual RUHS Foundation Festival of Trees gala, and Thanksgiving weekend of free fun activities and displays for children, families, and adults; unique holiday crafts and goodies sales. The beloved Festival of Trees gala and its weekend of activities are returning to downtown Riverside for the first time since the pandemic restricted gatherings and events.

WHY:              The Festival of Trees raises awareness and support for crucial work at Riverside University Health System’s Pediatric Unit, neonatal and pediatric intensive care units, and the Riverside County Child Abuse and Neglect Unit. The weekend of free activities, community performances, Santa visits and more, is one of RUHS Foundation’s way thanking the community for decades of support and generosity.

WHEN:           10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, November 21, 2022        

MEDIA:           Photo, video, and interview opportunities with organizers and festival volunteers as they fill the convention center with more than 100 holiday trees, winter-themed landscapes, bejeweled ornaments, and sparkling lights.
