Our county’s approach to creating a more equitable, accessible, and opportunity focused place for our workforce and residents includes:
1. Board of Supervisors Resolution. The County of Riverside Board of Supervisor's resolution, declaring racism and inequity as a public health crises, lays the foundation for the work we do. Click here to read the resolution.
2. Implicit Bias Trainings. In order to be a well informed governmental agency that is conscious of injustice and unfairness, we will engage in robust trainings and continuing education to expand the understanding of how bias and discrimination affects individuals and communities most impacted by inequities. County employees will be able to access implicit bias trainings from a County of Riverside Learning page.
3. County Equity Plan. We are working to ensure all County departments understand the communities they serve and are equipped to identify and eliminate systemic inequity in all external services. A county wide equity plan is being developed and will be published here soon.
4. Equity Assessments and Tools . We will review data, policies, practices, and procedures regularly to help us improve the lives of the people we serve in our County. Explore our resources:
5. Normalizing. Our hope is that everyone who lives, works, and enjoys life in Riverside County feels welcomed here, no matter how they identify or where they live.
