MISSION
The Board of Supervisors initiated an Unincorporated Communities Initiative (UCI) to improve the programs and services provided in unincorporated areas, with an emphasis on disadvantaged communities. Feedback from residents will be used to create a prioritized plan of projects or services that are most needed in unincorporated areas.

What is an unincorporated community?
An unincorporated area is a region governed at the county level, rather than a local municipal level, such as a city.
Why is this survey important?
Bringing needed infrastructure and services to the County’s Unincorporated Communities can result in improved quality of life for those areas.
What is the timeframe for this initiative?
The present improvement effort is planned to begin between July 1, 2021 and June 30, 2022.
What types of services or infrastructure are targeted for improvements?
Types of services or infrastructure needs will depend on feedback from the community and may consist of the following: sewer, water, electric, bandwidth, paved roads, social services, policing, fire protection, public transportation, etc.
How will these projects or services be funded?
Projects may be funded by a variety of sources including, but not limited to grant funds, County General Fund, third party partnerships, low or no interest loans, etc.
A survey was done online to assist in determining the needs to improve the infrastructure and services in unincorporated communities throughout Riverside County.
