County Waste Department to Host Garden Talk on Healthy Soils with Riverside County Master Gardeners

February 6, 2019

Healthy gardens start with healthy soils.  Now is the time to prepare your garden for spring planting.  Master Gardeners will give a presentation and share their knowledge about our local soil and how you can make it better to grow more robust plants and productive food crops. Valuable soil is rapidly degenerating, and there is too much dioxide in the atmosphere. Gardeners and farmers everywhere can move carbon OUT of the atmosphere… and build it back into healthy, fertile soil.

There is a lot even an urban dweller can do to build healthy soils. Learn how simple it can be.  Attend this free “how-to” Garden Talk presentation by the UCCE Master Gardener Program of Riverside County hosted by Riverside County Department of Waste Resources on Saturday, Feb. 9, at 9:30 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at our office located at 14310 Frederick St. in Moreno Valley.

The Riverside County Department of Waste Resources provides this free class in an effort to reduce waste and help preserve valuable space in the county sanitary landfill, and to reduce the amount of chemical waste residents bring to the Household Hazardous Waste collection program for processing and disposal.
