Free waste reduction classes in Oasis/Mecca at the Mecca library

Riverside County Department of Waste Resources will be providing a series of waste reduction and recycling classes in the Oasis/Mecca area. Recycling Specialists will be hosting classes in English and Spanish on Green Cleaning, Recycling 1-2-3, and Food Waste Food Rescue. All classes are free and will be held at the Riverside County Mecca Library, located at 91-260 Avenue 66 in Mecca. Useful literature will be available at each presentation.

This educational program is provided as a component of the Clean California Local Grant Program. The Waste Resources Department offers a variety of FREE environmental education classes related to waste reduction and sustainability. Class instructors provide attendees with professional learning and instructional materials that demonstrate environmental diversion themes such as composting, recycling, and green cleaning. These programs are offered to increase awareness of waste reduction and advantages of recycling to help preserve valuable space in county landfills.
The Clean California Local Grant from the State of California Department of Transportation to Riverside University Health System – Public Health will address infrastructure and non-infrastructure needs in unincorporated community of Oasis. Riverside County Department of Waste Resources is participating to serve as an education outreach partner for the project.
